Accident at Juaso Junction Leaves Student in Critical Condition

One student is in critical condition following a road accident involving a taxi and two other vehicles at Juaso Junction in the Asante Akyem South Municipality.

The incident occurred as three male students of Asankare Technical Youth School were returning home for the Christmas holidays.

They had boarded a taxi traveling from Asankare to Juaso when the crash happened.

According to eyewitness accounts, the taxi driver attempted a wrongful overtaking, colliding with an Asante Akyem towing vehicle. A cargo truck parked by the roadside was also involved in the accident.

Two of the students sustained minor injuries, while the third student was left in a critical condition. The taxi driver reportedly fled the scene immediately after the crash.

The injured students were rushed to the Juaso Government Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment and are said to be responding well.
The cargo truck involved bears registration number AS 8210 P, while the taxi is registered AS 5221 F.

Police have commenced investigations into the accident, as authorities continue to caution drivers against reckless overtaking, especially during the festive season when road traffic is high.
