Abesim murder trial: Two jurors withdraw

A major development has occurred in the trial of Richard Appiah, the 28-year-old architect accused of murdering two children at Abesim in the Bono Region.

Two jurors have withdrawn from the case, which is a significant turn of events. The foreman of the jury wrote a letter to the court stating his decision to step down, and another juror has also expressed a desire to be replaced, although the judge has requested a formal written request.

The case has been postponed to March 27, 2025, pending further developments. Appiah is accused of killing his stepbrother and two other children, aged 12 and 15, in a horrific crime.

During the investigation, police discovered a dismembered body in a fridge, while two other bodies were found in separate rooms in Appiah’s residence.

Further investigation led to the discovery of intestines believed to belong to one of the victims at a cocoa farm in Abesim, which were exhumed for forensic analysis. Additionally, two bloodstained machetes were retrieved from the scene.
