Abandoned KG Block Completed After 16 Years as Assembly Member Urges Students to Take Education Seriously
An ultra-modern Kindergarten (KG) block that had been abandoned for 16 years has finally been completed and commissioned by the Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Siata Watara, at Anungurano.
Speaking to the media after the commissioning, Hon. Siata Watara highlighted the various facilities provided in the newly completed KG block. She mentioned that the facility includes a three-unit classroom block, toilet facilities, urinals, a conference room and offices.
She further noted that the block also has wardrobes, washrooms, a headteacher’s office and a staff common room. According to the MCE, teaching and learning materials have also been provided to support effective teaching and learning and improve the educational experience of the children.
The Assembly Member for the area, Agnes Asantewaa, popularly known as Awo Yaa and a former NPP Women’s Organiser, expressed her gratitude to the MCE for ensuring the completion of the long-abandoned project.
She urged the pupils to take their education seriously and study hard to become responsible and productive citizens in the future. According to her, her educational background contributed to her losing the election, a situation she said should serve as a lesson to the younger generation.
She also commended Hon. Siata Watara for what she described as her non-partisan approach to development, stating that she shows love and concern to everyone regardless of their political affiliation.
Agnes Asantewaa further appealed to the MCE to continue focusing on the development needs of Anungurano and support the community with more development projects.
Some community members also expressed their appreciation to Hon. Siata Watara for completing the abandoned KG block, describing the project as an important development for education in the community.
