University Lecturer Caught in Compromising Video with Student: Shocking Sting Operation Exposes “Sex-for-Grades” Allegations

A senior statistics lecturer at a prominent Ghanaian university has been exposed in a viral video allegedly showing him in a compromising position with a female student inside his office, as part of a student-led sting operation aimed at uncovering claims of “sex-for-grades” misconduct.

The footage, circulating widely on social media since October 2025, captures the lecturer—identified as Professor Abraham (full name withheld pending official confirmation)—making persistent advances toward the visibly uncomfortable student, who rejects him repeatedly.

In the clip, the professor is heard pressuring the student, saying, “Just relax, it’s quick,” while she responds, “No, Prof, I’m not comfortable,” amid his insistence.

According to reports, the lecturer has long faced accusations from students of demanding sexual favors in exchange for better grades, allegations he consistently denied until this sting operation.

A group of students, frustrated by the unaddressed claims, orchestrated the setup by having the female student—equipped with a hidden camera—meet the professor under the pretense of discussing her grades.

The video, which has amassed millions of views on platforms like X and TikTok, shows the encounter escalating as the professor closes the office door and persists despite her protests.

The incident has ignited widespread outrage, with students and alumni demanding immediate suspension and investigation.

This scandal echoes the 2019 BBC Africa Eye “Sex for Grades” documentary, which exposed similar misconduct at the University of Ghana (UG) and University of Lagos, leading to suspensions of lecturers like Dr. Ransford Gyampo and Dr. Paul Butakor.

The university has yet to issue an official statement, but sources indicate an internal probe is underway, with the lecturer placed on interdiction pending the outcome.

Education advocacy groups like the Ghana National Council of Private Schools (GNACOPS) have renewed calls for a Commission of Inquiry into campus sexual misconduct, describing the video as “the tip of the iceberg” in a systemic issue.

The student, supported by peers and counselors, has been commended for her bravery in exposing the abuse, with university authorities urged to act swiftly to protect victims and restore trust.
