$400M spent on Agenda 111, yet no hospital operational – Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama revealed in his maiden State of the Nation Address that a whopping $400 million was spent on the Agenda 111 hospital project under the previous administration, yet not a single hospital is fully operational.

This ambitious healthcare initiative aimed to construct 111 hospitals nationwide to bridge Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure gap.

Launched to transform the country’s healthcare landscape, Agenda 111 has fallen short of expectations. Despite the significant financial investment, none of the hospitals have been completed or made operational.

President Mahama emphasized that the $400 million spent could have facilitated the completion of at least 22 hospitals if resources had been utilized efficiently.

This revelation raises concerns about the efficiency and effectiveness of the previous administration’s healthcare initiatives.

President Mahama’s remarks underscore the need for transparency and accountability in governance, particularly in critical sectors like healthcare.
