26 Rescued as Multiple-Vehicle Crash Sparks Fire Near Kintampo Waterfalls

Fire personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) on Wednesday responded swiftly to a distress call following a multiple-vehicle accident near the Kintampo Waterfalls.
According to the Service, the emergency alert was received at about 3:59 p.m., prompting the immediate dispatch of a rescue team to the scene. Firefighters arrived approximately an hour and a half later and commenced rescue and containment operations.
A total of 26 passengers were reportedly trapped in the vehicles involved in the crash and were successfully rescued by the GNFS team. Fire officers also worked to secure the area and prevent the fire from spreading further.
Three people sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for medical treatment.
Preliminary assessments at the scene revealed that several vehicles were involved in a chain collision. Among them was a Mercedes Sprinter bus, which crashed into parked vehicles and caught fire during the incident.
