The Ghana Police Service has launched a training program for Community Police Assistants at various Police Training Schools nationwide, following a May 2025 Memorandum of Understanding with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).

The initiative aims to train 12,000 youth to support law enforcement in promoting peace, preventing crime, and building community trust.

At the National Police Training School in Tesano, Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebener Okletey Terlabi, highlighted that the program equips trainees with skills, knowledge, and values like integrity and discipline to foster police-community partnerships.

DCOP Frederick Blagodzi, Director General of Human Resources for the Ghana Police Service, emphasized the program’s role in enhancing public safety and urged trainees to serve with professionalism.

YEA CEO Mr. Malik Basintale praised the partnership, noting the opportunity for youth to contribute to national security.
