Armed robbers numbering about 10 reportedly attacked Apoo Gold Buying Shop and a nearby provision store at Mpohor in the Western Region on Tuesday evening.
The robbery incident occurred around 7:30 p.m., throwing the area into fear and panic.
According to reports, the armed men stormed the two businesses and made away with GH¢5,000 from each shop, in addition to an unspecified quantity of gold from the gold buying shop.
During the attack, one worker was reportedly shot by the robbers and sustained injuries.
The victim was rushed to hospital and is currently receiving medical treatment.
Police have since launched investigations into the incident as efforts continue to track down the suspects behind the robbery attack.
Residents in the area have expressed concern over the rising insecurity and are calling for increased police patrols to protect lives and property.
