Yamal’s Stunner Rescues Barcelona in Six-Goal Thriller at Club Brugge

Lamine Yamal scored a sensational solo goal as Barcelona fought back three times to secure a 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in a pulsating UEFA Champions League clash at Jan Breydelstadion, leaving both sides frustrated yet relieved.

The hosts stunned the visitors early when Carlos Forbs burst down the right and squared for Nicolo Tresoldi to slide in (6′). Ferran Torres equalized almost immediately with a first-time finish from Fermín López’s cross (8′).

Brugge regained the lead through Forbs’ cool slot after Christos Tzolis carved open Barca’s high line (17′). The Catalans hit the woodwork three times—Fermin, Jules Koundé, and Eric Garcia’s 30-yard rocket—before Yamal leveled with a Messi-esque dribble past two defenders, a one-two with Dani Olmo, and a clinical finish (61′).

Forbs restored Brugge’s advantage with a clipped shot over Wojciech Szczęsny (63′), but a penalty awarded to the hosts was overturned by VAR for an Alex Balde foul on Forbs. Yamal’s cross then forced Tzolis into an own goal (77′).

In stoppage time, Romeo Vermant appeared to win it after dispossessing Szczęsny, but VAR disallowed the goal for a foul on the keeper.

Player of the match Forbs (7.13 rating) said: “A magical night… we deserved to win.” Barca boss Hansi Flick criticized defensive lapses: “Too easy to score against us.”

Both teams sit on identical xG (2.14). Barca have 7 points, Brugge 4 after four games.
