The Management of the University of Ghana has postponed the reopening of the University for the 2026/2027 academic year.
The reopening was initially scheduled for Monday, 12 October 2026. A revised date will be announced in due course.
In a notice dated 10 October 2026 and signed by Professor Gordon A. Awandare, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs, the University Management informed all students of the decision.
Management sincerely regretted any inconvenience the postponement may cause and appreciated the patience and understanding of students as arrangements are made for the reopening.

In the meantime, students have been reminded to complete their academic registration online using the procedure outlined in previous communication. This is to secure their places for classes and ensure their eligibility to participate in the random bed allocation which will be conducted soon
