UGMC successfully completes initial series of six kidney transplant surgeries

The University of Ghana Medical Centre Ltd (UGMC) has announced the successful completion of its inaugural series of six kidney transplant surgeries.

In a statement issued Sunday night [June 30, 2024], the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) announced that a highly skilled and dedicated team of local and foreign medical professionals successfully performed the surgeries.

“The UGMC has so far conducted six kidney transplant surgeries with utmost precision, care, and expertise,” the statement read.

Dr. Emmanuel Asante, Head of Urology at UGMC, noted that the procedures were performed seamlessly, highlighting the Centre’s capabilities in complex surgical interventions and post-operative care.
