Tragic Crash in Kumasi: Driver Kills Two, Injures Others While Chasing Tricycle

A devastating accident in Edwenase, Kwadaso Municipality, Kumasi, claimed the lives of three individuals on July 27, 2025, when a driver, identified as Kwame Asare, crashed while pursuing a tricycle that had scratched his car.
According to eyewitnesses cited by GhanaWeb and a video shared on X by @withAlvin__, the driver lost control at a sharp curve on the Edwenase-Mamponteng road, colliding with a parked commercial minibus and overturning his vehicle.
The crash killed the driver and two passengers in the minibus instantly, with three others sustaining serious injuries. Emergency services rushed the injured to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
The Ghana Police Service, in a statement to CitiNewsRoom, confirmed the incident and is investigating, with preliminary findings suggesting reckless driving. The accident has sparked outrage on X, with users like @Citi973 calling for stricter traffic enforcement to curb such preventable tragedies.
