Thomas Partey to Face Two Additional Rape Charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court

Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, currently playing in Spain, is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to answer two new rape charges authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in February 2026.

The additional counts relate to allegations made by a fourth woman who contacted the Metropolitan Police in August 2025. The offences are said to have occurred in 2020, predating the incidents cited in the original charges brought against the Ghana international.

With these latest developments, Partey now faces a total of eight charges involving four different women: seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

In July 2025, he was initially charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault concerning three women, with the alleged offences taking place between 2021 and 2022.

Partey has consistently denied all the allegations through his legal representatives and has stated that he has cooperated fully with the police during the multi-year investigation.

He remains on conditional bail, which permits him to continue his professional football career in Spain and represent the Ghana national team. The conditions include notifying authorities of any travel and a prohibition on contacting the complainants.

Friday’s court appearance is specifically to address the two newly authorised charges. Meanwhile, the trial for the original six counts is already set to commence on November 2, 2026, at Southwark Crown Court.

The Metropolitan Police and CPS have emphasised that criminal proceedings are active, and all parties are reminded of the need to avoid commentary that could prejudice the ongoing case.

Partey, who left Arsenal in 2025 after a successful spell in the Premier League, continues to feature prominently for his club in La Liga and remains a key member of the Black Stars squad. The legal proceedings have drawn significant attention both in the United Kingdom and across the global football community.
