The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the fixtures for the eagerly awaited 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The new season is set to begin on Friday, September 6, 2024.

Reigning champions FC Samartex 1996 will start their title defense with a tough away game against Dreams FC.

Traditional powerhouses Hearts of Oak are set to host newly promoted Basake Holy Stars, while Asante Kotoko will face Karela United.

The opening weekend is packed with thrilling matches, including a showdown between former league champions Medeama and last season’s runners-up Accra Lions.

Other notable Matchday 1 fixtures include Vision FC versus Berekum Chelsea, Nsoatreman FC against Young Apostles, Aduana FC facing Heart of Lions, Gold Stars hosting Legon Cities, and Nations FC taking on Bechem United.

The highly anticipated Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak is slated for Matchday 13 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Several regional derbies are expected to stir up excitement. In the Brong Ahafo region, intense rivalries will unfold between Nsoatreman FC, Berekum Chelsea, and Aduana Stars. The Western region will witness clashes between Medeama and Basake Holy Stars, as well as FC Samartex and Gold Stars.

Additionally, the Ashanti derby between Asante Kotoko and Nations FC is anticipated to be a highlight of the season.

The 2024/25 season will feature 34 matchdays with no midweek fixtures, aimed at minimizing travel burdens for the teams.

A one-week break is planned before the national elections on December 7, 2024, to allow players and officials to participate in the electoral process.
