A storekeeper at Tatale Senior High School has been accused of attempting to steal foodstuffs from the school’s stores after being confronted by students.
The incident, which occurred in Tatale in the Northern Region, gained public attention following a viral video showing the storekeeper holding food items while students shouted at him.
According to reports, the students had become suspicious of ongoing shortages and laid an ambush near the store. The storekeeper, together with another individual, was allegedly attempting to remove the food items when they were caught.
A source familiar with the incident indicated that the storekeeper fled the scene when the students raised an alarm, leaving the other individual behind.
The matter has since been reported to the Northern Regional Director of Education, who has directed a full-scale investigation into the incident.
Authorities at the school have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the facts and determine any wrongdoing.
