Standard Bank Group, in collaboration with the African Union Peace Fund, seeks to accelerate continental peace and security.

The Standard Bank Group has signed a memorandum of understanding to partner with the African Union Peace Fund in order to promote peace and security in the African continent.

This aims at promoting the African Union’s efforts toward pacification on the continent. The bank will contribute $1 million to the African Union Peace Fund for five consecutive years. This financial commitment underlines the bank’s desire to create a stable and prosperous Africa that is founded on peace and security, through which economic growth is most certainly founded.

It is in line with the AU goal of fully funding mediation and preventative diplomacy activities, improving institutional preparedness, and maintaining a crisis reserve facility. Through this contribution to the African Union Peace Fund, Standard Bank Group paves the way for Africa’s growth and sustainable development.
