Standard Bank Ghana’s DigiTrade Wins Top Honors at Kuunda Disrupt Hackathon
Standard Bank Ghana’s corporate and investment banking division, DigiTrade, has emerged as the overall winner of the recent Kuunda Disrupt Hackathon. The team developed an innovative system leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to review and verify international trade documents, effectively addressing inefficiencies associated with manual submission.
The Kuunda Disrupt Hackathon, held annually, brings together employees from across Standard Bank’s 20-country African footprint to develop solutions enhancing client experience. This year’s event received 395 proposals, with 45 teams competing in the Dragon’s Den session. Five winning teams, one from each business unit, were selected, with DigiTrade taking the top spot.
Other winning teams included:
– Eco Traders (BCB): Offset carbon emissions through trade
– AutoVision Pioneer (IAM): Automated vehicle damage assessment
– Byte Me (PPB): Addressing missed deals and promotions
– The Night Watchers (Corporate Functions): Real-time analytics for task automation
