Seven in Critical Condition After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Konongo-Kumasi Highway

Seven people are fighting for their lives in hospital after a serious road accident involving three vehicles on the Konongo-Kumasi highway.
The crash happened around 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Kubease in the Juaben Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and rushed the seven injured victims to the Konongo-Odumasi Government Hospital in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality, where they are currently receiving treatment in critical condition.
The accident involved a Daewoo STC bus with registration number GS 7045-22, a Volvo vehicle registered GN 4093-21, and a Benz Atego truck bearing registration GR 7972-17.
Authorities have not yet released official details on the cause of the collision, but investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the incident.
Road accidents remain a major concern on Ghana’s highways, particularly along busy stretches like the Konongo-Kumasi route, which sees heavy commercial and passenger traffic daily.
