Seven Dead in Head-On Collision Between Buses on Bawku-Zebilla-Bolgatanga Highway

Seven passengers have lost their lives in a tragic head-on collision involving a mini bus and a passenger bus on the Bawku-Zebilla-Bolgatanga highway.
The accident occurred at Saka, a community near Zebilla in the Bawku West District. According to reports, the mini bus was travelling from Bawku, while the passenger bus was heading to Bawku from Kumasi when the two vehicles collided.
Several other passengers sustained various degrees of injuries and have been rushed to nearby health facilities for treatment.
The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigations to determine the exact cause of the crash, with preliminary indications pointing to possible speeding or loss of control on the busy route.
This latest road accident adds to growing concerns over safety on the Bawku-Bolgatanga highway, a major transport corridor in the Upper East Region that sees heavy vehicular traffic daily.
Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution, especially on stretches prone to head-on collisions, as they continue to investigate the incident.
