Sarkodie Defends Ebo Noah’s Arrest: “He’s Just Creating Content, Not Committing a Crime”

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has spoken out in support of Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, following his dramatic arrest for spreading doomsday flood prophecies.
In an Instagram story posted on January 2, 2026, Sarkodie shared a video of Ebo Noah in handcuffs being led into a police vehicle and questioned the basis for the arrest.
“Don’t know exactly what my boy’s crime is, but from day one I knew he was making content, unless he’s been charged with something else,” the rapper wrote.
Sarkodie’s comment suggests he believes Ebo Noah’s viral videos—claiming divine instructions to build “arks” ahead of a world-ending flood—were meant as entertainment or online content creation, not to be taken literally.
The 33-year-old self-styled prophet gained massive attention in late 2025 with predictions of a catastrophic three-year global flood starting on Christmas Day, December 25. He built wooden boats in places like Elmina and Kumasi, urging people to repent and join him for salvation.
When no flood happened, he claimed his prayers convinced God to postpone it.
Public anger grew after Ebo Noah appeared on stage at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert on December 25—the very day the disaster was supposed to begin.
On December 31, 2025, police arrested him in Weija-Gbawe for publishing false news and causing widespread fear and panic.
On January 2, 2026, the Adentan Circuit Court remanded him for two weeks and ordered a psychiatric evaluation at Pantang Hospital. His next court date is January 16, 2026.
Sarkodie’s public defence has sparked mixed reactions, with some agreeing it’s just content creation, while others argue the prophecies caused real public distress. The case continues to divide opinions online.
