Real Madrid reportedly agree €2m deal for Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei

Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Spanish side Granada to sign Ghanaian centre-back Oscar Naasei for €2 million.

The 21-year-old defender is understood to have completed his medical and is expected to begin his Real Madrid career with Castilla, the club’s reserve team, as he continues his development.

Naasei reportedly attracted interest from a German club but opted for the opportunity to join the Spanish giants.

The defender has impressed since moving to Spain in 2023, when he joined Granada’s U19 team from Ghanaian lower-tier side Emmanuel City.

He has since progressed through Granada’s system and has made 71 appearances across competitions, including two appearances in La Liga 2 this season.

Naasei primarily operates as a centre-back, but can also play at right-back.

The reported €2 million investment underlines Real Madrid’s belief in his potential. The immediate objective will be to give him regular experience with Castilla while adapting to the demands of the club.

If the move is completed, Naasei will have a significant opportunity to develop within one of the world’s most prestigious football academies, with the ultimate ambition of breaking into Real Madrid’s senior team.
