Rapper Guru Disqualified from University of Ghana SRC Presidential Election

Ghanaian rapper Maradona Adjei Yeboah, popularly known as Guru, has been disqualified from contesting the University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) presidential election. The SRC’s Vetting Committee cited Guru’s non-residential status as the reason for his disqualification.

According to the SRC’s constitution, a student must reside in one of the university’s halls to be eligible for a leadership position. Guru and another aspirant, Lawrence Edinam Egleh, confirmed their non-residential status during the vetting process.

Guru had announced his intention to contest the SRC presidency in May, citing his desire to address accommodation problems and inter-hall rifts. However, his disqualification means he will no longer be able to run for the position.

The SRC’s decision has sparked interest, with many wondering what’s next for Guru’s student leadership ambitions.
