QNET Distances Itself From Alleged Canada Travel Scam In Ghana

Q-NET has strongly condemned an alleged Canada travel scam uncovered by the and has distanced itself from the suspects involved.

In a statement issued on Monday, May 11, 2026, the company said it was aware of reports that the Police Anti-Human Trafficking Unit had arrested more than 100 Ghanaians allegedly linked to a Canada travel scheme falsely operating under the QNET name.

According to the company, the suspects allegedly deceived victims with promises of overseas travel opportunities and other false claims connected to the QNET brand.

“QNET strongly condemns this alleged case of kidnapping and travel scam. The company dissociates itself from the perpetrators of these crimes,” the statement said.

QNET stressed that it does not engage in fraudulent recruitment schemes, visa arrangements or unrealistic investment opportunities.

“QNET Ghana dissociates itself from any fraudulent activities, scams, or schemes that promise unrealistic returns, employment opportunities, business prospects, or visa assistance,” the company added.

Deputy Chairman of QNET for Sub-Saharan Africa, , described the allegations as serious and inconsistent with the company’s operations.

“Holding people against their will is a very serious offence, and QNET does not operate in that manner,” he stated.

The company also disclosed that it is intensifying anti-fraud awareness campaigns across Sub-Saharan Africa through its “QNET Against Scams” initiative using television, radio, social media, billboards and print platforms.

According to QNET, it is strengthening collaboration with security agencies and plans to expand its partnership with the across West Africa to combat fraud linked to its name.

The company further advised the public to verify all travel, recruitment and business-related offers through official QNET channels before making any financial commitments.
