QNET Clarifies: Not Banned in Ghana, Court Ruling Targeted Impersonators

Accra, Ghana – QNET, a global direct selling company specializing in lifestyle and wellness products, has issued a statement to clear up confusion regarding its operations in Ghana. The company asserts that it is not banned in the country and is unaware of any scheduled court case or judgment on July 20, 2025, that involves its legitimate business.

According to QNET, recent media reports have mistakenly linked them to illegal entities that were dissolved by a 2022 court ruling. These dissolved companies were falsely operating under names similar to QNET.

Biram Fall, QNET’s Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, explained, “Some security agencies and media outlets seem to have mistaken that judgment as being against QNET. In fact, the ruling targeted ‘Q-NET INVESTMENT LIMITED,’ which had no connection to us. To date, no legally empowered court or regulatory body has banned QNET. We remain fully compliant with Ghanaian laws and committed to working closely with all relevant authorities.”

Attorney General Confirmed QNET Was Not the Banned Entity in 2023

Fall further clarified that this confusion is not new. He stated that in July 2023, QNET petitioned the Attorney General to clarify the 2022 court judgment, which had been misunderstood by some media and stakeholders. The Attorney General then confirmed in writing that QNET was distinct from ‘Q-NET INVESTMENT LIMITED,’ the company that was dissolved. The letter explicitly stated, “We have perused the said judgment as well as your petition and are of the opinion that the Honourable Court did not in any way link the company QNET and Q-Net Investment Limited.”

QNET’s Efforts to Correct Misunderstandings

Since 2022, QNET has actively engaged with stakeholders, including the Ghana Police and the media, to correct this misunderstanding. Notably, Ghana’s leading national newspaper, the Daily Graphic, published an article to set the record straight, clearly stating that ‘Q-NET INVESTMENT LIMITED’ was the dissolved entity, not QNET. Other major media organizations have also reported on QNET’s support for the Attorney General’s efforts to dissolve companies impersonating QNET and misusing its brand.

Collaborating with Authorities to Combat Scams

QNET emphasized its ongoing collaboration with Ghanaian law enforcement agencies, including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Ghana Immigration Service, to identify, repatriate, and assist victims of human trafficking and misrepresentation by fraudulent actors.1 The company has also assisted various embassies in repatriating their citizens. In August 2024, QNET officials conducted an information-sharing session with over 200 detectives at the Detective Training Academy in Tesano to address concerns about brand misuse.

These efforts are well-documented and involve resource contributions and structured cooperation with officials in Ghana and across the sub-region. QNET is also working closely with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria to prosecute individuals who misuse its brand to defraud innocent people.

Continuing the Fight Against Scams

QNET has intensified its public education campaign, “QNET Against Scams,” which uses various media platforms like television, radio, billboards, online, and social media to warn the public against scams and illegal migration.2 The company continues to report cases of illegal activities conducted in its name to law enforcement. To date, QNET has escalated 70 cases to authorities and provided assistance to over 300 victims across Sub-Saharan Africa.
