PRISON OFFICER LYNCHED AT KASOA IRONCITY
Kasoa, Central Region – In a tragic and shocking incident, a prison officer stationed at Nsawam Prisons, identified as Gideon Adu Boakye, has been lynched by unknown assailants at Iron City in the Awutu Senya Municipality of the Central Region.
His body was discovered in a gutter, leaving his family and the entire community in disbelief.
The officer, who had returned to Kasoa to spend the weekend with his mother, was expected to return to his post but never did.
Concerned by his absence, his family began searching for him and later discovered his lifeless body.
In an interview with Odehye KwakuAsiedu, and Eric Akoto, a family member, they recounted the harrowing events leading up to the discovery of the prison officer’s body.
According to Eric, witnesses heard Gideon Adu Boakye pleading with his attackers, identifying himself as a prison officer. Despite his desperate pleas, the assailants continued their assault, ultimately killing him.
Eric Akoto expressed deep shock and sorrow that overwhelmed the family following the incident.
He stated that the family is devastated by the loss and is now calling on state security agencies to launch an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter.
They hope that the culprits will be swiftly brought to justice and made to answer for this heinous crime.
The gruesome killing has left the community on edge, with many questioning the rising levels of violence and insecurity in the area. Residents are now appealing for heightened security presence to prevent further tragedies.
The police have yet to make an official statement, but investigations are expected to commence as the family continues to mourn the untimely loss of their loved one.
