Priscilla Ofori (Odo Broni) Delivers Emotional Tribute to Late Husband Daddy Lumba at Funeral

Priscilla Ofori, popularly known as Odo Broni and one of the recognized spouses of the late highlife legend Charles Kwadwo Fosu (Daddy Lumba), paid a heartfelt and defiant tribute to her husband during his final funeral rites at Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
In a message read on her behalf, Odo Broni addressed her late husband directly, calling him “my king, my protector” and “Lion King,” while affirming the enduring truth of their love amid public controversies surrounding his passing and family disputes.
“My husband Charles Kojo Fosuh, my king, my protector, if your spirit still walks among us, then let truth itself rise as our vengeance,” the tribute began. “Let the love we share be the fire that consumes falsehood. Let the dignity with which you held me, the honour with which you lifted me and the peace you gave me stand as testimony to every cruel tongue.”
She highlighted the joy and family they built together: “You treated me like a queen, you gave me a family, you gave me joy. That truth is eternal, and it will outlive every lie.”
Odo Broni referenced their six children—Charles, Ama Esah, Ohemaa Fosu, Awo Yaa, Katakyire Gyamfi, and Charles Kwadwo Fosu Jnr—expressing gratitude for the “six beautiful blessings” and noting that Junior’s birthday coinciding with the funeral would serve as a reminder of the enduring legacy.
“Rest my Lion King, rest knowing that your Odo Broni will never let your story be forgotten,” she concluded.
The tribute comes amid ongoing public discussions following Daddy Lumba’s death on July 26, 2025, after a short illness. A Kumasi High Court recently ruled that both Odo Broni and Akosua Serwah Fosuh were customarily married to the musician, allowing the funeral to proceed after months of legal delays.
Thousands gathered despite heavy rains to honor the iconic artist, whose music defined generations of Ghanaian highlife.
