Presidential Jet Nears Return After Repairs in France – Defence Ministry

Ghana’s Falcon 900 Executive Jet is undergoing final tests in France and will return once safety checks are completed, Deputy Defence Minister Ernest Brogya Genfi assured Parliament on Thursday.

The aircraft was ferried to Dassault Falcon Service in Le Bourget on March 11, 2025, for a mandatory 24-month and 1,600-flying-hour inspection. Initial delays stemmed from corrosion in fuel tanks and a leak in the right-hand wing, both now resolved with OEM assistance.

“Final steps include leak testing, engine ground runs, panel painting, and an acceptance flight,” Genfi said. The jet, acquired in 2008, supports presidential travel and has been grounded since March.

The ministry emphasized compliance with international airworthiness standards. No return date was confirmed, but all issues are addressed.
