PRESEC-Legon Unveils Refurbished Dining Hall at 87th Anniversary, Courtesy of Odadeɛ 2000 Year Group

The Odadeɛ 2000 Year Group (Y2K) has handed over a fully renovated dining hall to Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC-Legon) during the school’s 87th Speech and Prize-Giving Day on Saturday, November 29.

As the powering year group for the milestone celebration, the Y2K cohort led a complete overhaul of the main dining facility to improve meal services and accommodate the school’s growing student population.

The refurbished hall was officially unveiled amid vibrant ceremonies marking the anniversary.

A representative of the Ministry of Education, delivering remarks on behalf of Minister Haruna Iddrisu and Ghana Education Service Director-General Professor N.S. Kofi Davis, commended PRESEC’s enduring legacy.

“PRESEC stands out today for academic excellence, discipline, and the development of outstanding leaders for this country,” she said. “Your National Science and Maths Quiz victories, the 2025 Senior High School Renewable Energy Challenge championship—all show this heritage.”

She emphasized the event’s theme,

“Discipline to Shape Future Leaders,” stating: “Being a leader without discipline is pointless, and having discipline without a goal is pointless.”

Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs and a proud member of the 1999 year group, served as guest speaker. He expressed deep honor at addressing the group just one year behind him.

Speaking on the theme “Celebrating Our Heritage, Shaping Future Leaders Through Discipline and Academic Excellence,” Ablakwa described PRESEC’s legacy as alive and rooted in core values.

“When we celebrate PRESEC’s heritage, we celebrate a heritage of faith grounded in Presbyterian values, a heritage of discipline, a heritage of academic excellence recognized across Ghana and beyond, and a heritage of integrity which holds every Odadeɛ to a higher standard,” he said.

The Odadeɛ 2000 Year Group received widespread praise for organizing a successful celebration and delivering a lasting legacy project for their alma mater.
