Police Constables Turned Robbers: Two Off-Duty Officers Remanded for Attacking Okada Rider

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded two off-duty police constables, General Lance Corporals Philmon Agbevem and Peter Kwame Badagbor, in custody for allegedly attacking an okada rider and stealing GH₵3,700. The two officers, stationed at the Accra Central District Police Command, have been charged with conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.

According to the prosecution, the officers, dressed in their uniforms and armed with a rifle, trailed the okada rider, Emmanuel Amertodor, and his pillion rider, accusing them of stealing a purse. They subjected Amertodor to severe beatings, handcuffed him, and forcibly transferred GH₵3,700 from his phone to another number. They also took an additional GH₵120 from him.
