Police Conduct Successful Intelligence-Led Operation at Kwahu Nkwatia

The Eastern North Regional Police Command has carried out a successful intelligence-led operation at Kwahu Nkwatia, resulting in the arrest of three suspects and the retrieval of suspected narcotic drugs and ammunition.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, targeted known drug-peddling spots and criminal hideouts within Nkwatia Township and surrounding communities, as part of efforts to curb drug-related crimes and enhance public safety in the area.
According to the Police, officers first moved to Kwayeano, a suburb of Nkwatia, where a carefully coordinated cordon-and-search exercise led to the recovery of forty-six (46) wraps of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.
The team later proceeded to an estate near the Nkwatia SDA School, where two suspects, identified as Kwame Asomani, aged 27, and Kwasi Dwamena, aged 25, were arrested. Quantities of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs were retrieved from them.
In a separate development at Aduamoah, police arrested Kwadwo Ofori, aged 45, after finding him in possession of ten (10) rounds of BB ammunition without lawful authority.
All three suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations. The exhibits retrieved during the operation have also been secured and are pending forensic analysis.
The Eastern North Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying intelligence-led operations to combat drug trafficking and other criminal activities across the region, while urging the public to cooperate by providing timely information to aid crime prevention
