Police Arrest Three After Viral Video Shows Two-Year-Old Forced to Drink Alcohol

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three suspects in the Eastern Region following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing a two-year-old child being forced to consume an alcoholic beverage.

The arrests were carried out on Saturday, December 20, 2025, after an intensive intelligence-led operation by the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team of the Ghana Police Service. The incident, which occurred in Kade, sparked widespread public outrage on social media and prompted swift police action to protect the child.

According to police sources, the operation took place at Okumani, a suburb of Kade, where officers apprehended three individuals directly linked to the recording and circulation of the video. The suspects are Stephen Amoako (22), identified as the father of the two-year-old victim; Tawiah Precious (18), popularly known as “T’ Moni”; and Emmanuel Dadzie (24), also known as “Shapiro”.

All three suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to be arraigned before court in the coming days.

Meanwhile, police say efforts are underway to apprehend two additional suspects — Afram Bright, also known as “Mogabe”, and Panyin — who are currently on the run.

In a move to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the child, authorities have rescued the two-year-old victim and handed the child over to the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) at Asamankese.

“The victim has been handed over for protection, pending reunification with the mother,” said Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), in an official statement.

The Ghana Police Service has strongly condemned the act and reiterated its commitment to the protection of children. It warned that individuals who record, circulate, or participate in the abuse of minors will be traced and prosecuted using advanced cyber vetting tools.

The police have also appealed to the public to assist investigations by providing any information on the whereabouts of the two suspects still at large to the nearest police station
