Police Arrest Seven, Rescue 48 Victims in Ho Human Trafficking Bust

The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate and rescued 48 victims following two intelligence-led operations in Ho in the Volta Region.
The suspects — identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu, and Prince Kaku — were arrested on January 8 and 10, 2026. The operations were carried out at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road, and Somey Junction.
Police said the victims, largely young adults and students, were lured with false promises of overseas travel and allegedly held under deceptive and coercive conditions.
Searches conducted at the various locations uncovered official receipts issued to victims after monies were collected under the pretext of securing visas for travel abroad, along with assorted documents linked to other suspected fraudulent activities.
All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace the parents or relatives of the rescued victims and to apprehend other members of the syndicate who remain at large.
The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling organised fraud networks and protecting the public from human trafficking and related scams.
