Police Arrest Delegates for Photographing Ballots at Bimbilla NDC Elections

Police have arrested some delegates at the National Democratic Congress constituency elections in Bimbilla for allegedly taking photographs of their ballot papers.
Accra-based Citi News reported that the arrests sparked tension at the voting centre as security personnel intervened to prevent delegates from photographing their ballots.
The incident occurred during voting to elect new constituency executives for the governing party, amid efforts to maintain order throughout the electoral process.
A total of 60 aspirants are vying for 17 executive positions in the Bimbilla constituency, where 1,764 delegates are expected to cast their ballots.
The Bimbilla election is part of the NDC’s nationwide constituency-level polls scheduled for 24 and 25 October 2026 across all 276 constituencies.
