Passport Fee Slashed to GHC350 Starting November 13

Ablakwa announces 30% cut to ease burden on Ghanaians

The cost of acquiring a Ghanaian passport will drop from GHC500 to GHC350 effective Thursday, November 13, 2025, Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has confirmed.

The reduction, representing a 30% cut, fulfills a government pledge to make travel documents more affordable and reduce reliance on middlemen.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Ablakwa stated:

“This adjustment is aimed at encouraging more citizens to obtain valid travel documents through official channels while discouraging the use of unauthorized agents.”

The new fee applies to all Passport Application Centres (PACs) nationwide and covers standard processing services.

  • Old Fee: GHC500
  • New Fee: GHC350
  • Effective Date: November 13, 2025
  • Scope: All standard passport applications
