Parliament to start vetting Mahama’s Deputy Minister nominees today

The Appointments Committee of Parliament in Ghana is set to begin public hearings today, February 24, 2025, to vet President John Mahama’s nominees for various ministerial positions. The hearings will run until Thursday, February 27, 2025, starting at 9:30 a.m. daily at Committee Rooms 1 and 2 of the Administration Block.

President Mahama has nominated 13 deputy ministers to support key sectors, including finance, interior, defense, education, and energy, among others. Additionally, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has been nominated as Minister of State in charge of Public Sector Reforms.

 

The nominees were carefully selected based on their expertise, dedication, and alignment with the government’s vision. Presidential spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu stated that President Mahama is confident that these individuals will bring fresh perspectives and renewed energy to their respective ministries.
