Offinso North DCE Denies Promise of 24-Hour Economy Market in Akumadan

Hon. Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Offinso North, has refuted claims from some Akumadan residents regarding the government’s 24-hour economy market initiative. Residents of Akumadan had expressed concerns about the project, alleging that it was initially planned for their community but was diverted to Nkenkaaso.

Last week, a press conference was held at the Akumadan Chief’s palace, where community members, including chiefs and Assembly members, voiced their disappointment over what they perceived as a broken agreement.

However, in a counter press conference held on Friday, November 14, 2025, DCE Hon. Ceasar Ofosu Acheampong denied ever promising to locate the 24-hour economy market in Akumadan.

According to the DCE, his discussions with the Akumadan community focused on a proposal to expand the existing weekly market in Akumadan to a more suitable location within the town, not on the 24-hour economy market project.
