NSA Launches E-Certificates for National Service Personnel

The National Service Authority (NSA) has officially rolled out electronic certificates (e-certificates) for eligible National Service Personnel, marking a significant milestone in the digitisation of its services.

In a press release dated January 29, 2026, the Authority announced that both current and past service personnel can now access and download their e-certificates through the NSA portal, following approved procedures.

Key features of the new service:

The e-certificate service is optional and not compulsory
Current personnel can request e-certificates after completing service
Past personnel have the option to either reprint physical certificates or obtain e-certificates at a prescribed fee

The NSA emphasised that the service is provided for convenience and ease of access.

“The e-certificate service is an optional digital service provided for convenience,” the statement noted.

Additionally, the Authority announced that Annual Evaluation Forms for the 2024/2025 service year have been uploaded to the portal. All personnel in this batch are required to:

Download the forms
Complete them
Have them endorsed
Submit them to their respective District National Service Offices

Personnel within the 2024/2025 service year will only be able to access their e-certificates after submitting the approved Annual Evaluation Form.
Step-by-step procedure for requesting an e-certificate:

Submit an online request with National Service details via the NSA portal

Await approval (which may take up to five working days)
Receive an SMS or email notification to proceed with payment
Complete identity verification using Ghana Card details and live facial capture

Download the e-certificate directly from the portal

“These steps are clearly outlined on the certificate service page of the NSA portal,” the Authority added.

The NSA urged all service personnel—current and past—to strictly follow the outlined procedures to ensure a smooth and timely process.

It also called on organisations, employers, institutions, and other stakeholders to fully recognise and accept e-certificates issued by the Authority. Institutions requiring further verification can contact the NSA through its official channels.

The introduction of e-certificates is expected to significantly reduce delays in certificate issuance, enhance accessibility for personnel across the country, and support Ghana’s broader digital transformation agenda in public services.
