NPP HAS NOT ALWAYS BEEN UNITED AFTER ELECTIONS – KWESI PRAT ARGUES

Seasoned Journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has deflated arguments that the New Patriotic Party(NPP) always unite after their internal elections.

The Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper refuted the claims during Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo” after a panel member, the Chief Executive of InterCity STC, Nana Akomea, reposed confidence in the party coming together after their impending presidential election despite the litany of accusations raised by some of the candidates.

Nana Akomea was optimistic that, after the election, the losing candidates will all unite behind the victor and, with one accord, push a common goal but Mr. Pratt shares little faith in such bold claim.

According to him, the “NPP has not always been united after elections”.

He cited instances where some members have fallen out with the party due to some unresolved concerns.

He mentioned among others Paul Afoko, a former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party who the party, in 2015, suspended indefinitely.

“Paul Afoko is not at the center of the party. There was no unity. If there was unity, Paul Afoko would have played a key role today. Sammy Crabbe, today, when we are talking about NPP leaders and those who hold prominent positions, he is not a part because of these same election issues. So, it is not true that every time you end your election, you become united and move forward. It is not true; the evidence is there,” he said.
