NDC youth in Ashaiman vandalise chairman’s office over appointment discontent

The situation in Ashaiman is getting pretty heated, with frustrated youth feeling marginalized despite their consistent support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1992. They’re accusing the party of toying with their emotions, and it’s clear that they’re not going to be pacified with mere promises anymore.

The Presiding Member of the Ashaiman Municipal Assembly, Godwin Twumasi, is urging the national leadership to take swift action, warning of further unrest if President Mahama’s campaign promises aren’t fulfilled.

It’s not just about appointments, though – many youth in the area are also demanding employment opportunities, particularly in local factories.

The Don Bosco Technical Institute in Ashaiman is actually doing some great work in providing diverse educational programs to support youth and young women in gaining employable skills.

They’ve developed programs in areas like carpentry, metal work, and graphic arts, and have even established a credit program to aid training center alumni in financing new businesses.

The youth in Ashaiman are clearly looking for more than just empty promises – they want to see real action and investment in their community.

As Regina Agbagba, the 2nd Deputy Constituency Youth Organizer, pointed out, Ashaiman deserves better than just being used for demonstrations. They’ve worked tirelessly to support the NDC, and it’s time for the party to deliver on its promises.

With tensions rising, it’s essential for President Mahama to intervene and address the concerns of the youth in Ashaiman before the situation spirals out of control.
