MTN Ghana Posts GH₵3.6 Billion Profit in First Half of 2025, Driven by 40% Revenue Surge

MTN Ghana, the country’s leading telecommunications operator, reported a 55.8% increase in profit after tax, reaching GH₵3.6 billion for the first half of 2025, fueled by robust growth in data, mobile money, and voice services.
According to its unaudited half-year financial results released on July 30, 2025, service revenue soared by 40% to GH₵11.3 billion. CEO Stephen Blewett attributed the success to “strong commercial momentum and execution” and praised the dedication of MTN Ghana’s employees.
The company declared an interim dividend of GH₵0.08 per share, up from GH₵0.065 in the same period last year, payable on September 11, 2025, to shareholders registered by August 22, 2025.
MTN Ghana’s subscriber base grew by 6.5% to 30.2 million, with active data users rising 11% to 18.2 million and mobile money users increasing 7.4% to 17.7 million. The company invested GH₵2.7 billion in network upgrades, achieving 99.3% 4G population coverage.
Amid improving macroeconomic conditions, with inflation dropping to 13.7% in June 2025 and the cedi appreciating against the US dollar, MTN Ghana’s share price hit a record high of GH₵3.55 on the Ghana Stock Exchange.
The company remains committed to its Ambition 2025 strategy, focusing on sustained growth and digital inclusion, while staying vigilant of global geopolitical risks.
