Mr. Beautiful Reveals Why He Quit Social Media for 8 Years
Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr. Beautiful, has opened up about his decision to leave social media for eight years. The outspoken supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) revealed that he was driven away by the harsh criticism and insults he received after publicly declaring his support for former President John Mahama.
In an interview with Merqury Quaye, Mr. Beautiful explained that his social media pages became a hub for insults and defamatory statements from fans and even colleagues after he declared Mahama the winner of the 2016 elections. He stated, “For eight years I was off social media because people just came there to insult me, just because of my affiliation to John Mahama and my declaration of the 2016 election.”
However, since rejoining social media, Mr. Beautiful has received some uplifting messages and apologies from fans who once insulted him. He shared an apology message from a lady who had insulted him on social media, saying, “Somebody sent me a message from Takoradi in the Western Region… a young lady from there sent me a message saying Mr. Beautiful, I never liked you when I was growing up because of your NDC and Mahama thing, but today I want you to ask almighty Allah for forgiveness, for me because I insulted you.”
Mr. Beautiful is currently promoting his new song, “The Gamechanger,” which supports the NDC presidential candidate and explains the 24-hour economy policy. He is on a radio tour to promote the song.
