MP for Garu Renews Call for Completion of Agenda 111 Hospital

The Member of Parliament for the Garu Constituency, Dr. Thomas Winsum Anabah, has renewed his appeal for the urgent completion of the Agenda 111 hospital in the district, describing the unfinished facility as critical to improving healthcare delivery and reducing pressure on existing health services.

Dr. Anabah made the call on January 22, 2026, during a donation of medical equipment to the Garu District Health Directorate at its premises.

The hospital, located at Werichinko in the Garu District, was initiated under the Agenda 111 programme but stalled before the previous government left office, despite being close to completion.

“My priority for the health sector is to ensure the completion of the Agenda 111 hospital,” Dr. Anabah said. “The facility is about 80 percent complete and only needs some additional support. I am appealing to all stakeholders to ensure it is included among the ten hospitals expected to be completed this year.”

He stressed that completing the project would significantly ease the burden on health workers and provide residents with better access to quality medical care without having to travel long distances.

As part of his visit, Dr. Anabah donated assorted medical equipment to the Garu District Health Directorate to support ongoing healthcare services. He described the gesture as a temporary intervention while efforts continue to complete the hospital.

Health officials in the district welcomed the donation and echoed the MP’s call for the hospital’s completion, noting that it would be a major boost to healthcare delivery in the area.

The Agenda 111 initiative, aimed at constructing district hospitals across the country, remains a key priority for improving healthcare infrastructure in underserved areas.
