Medeama Return to Summit After Narrow Win Over Heart of Lions

Medeama Sporting Club climbed back to the top of the league table on Saturday after securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Heart of Lions in their Matchday 16 encounter at the Kpando Sports Stadium.

A 20th-minute strike from Kingsley Braye proved decisive in a closely contested match, handing the Yellow and Mauve all three points. The win lifted Ibrahim Tanko’s side to the summit of the standings with 30 points, reinforcing their status as strong title contenders this season.

Heart of Lions, who battled bravely but failed to find an equaliser, dropped to seventh place on the league table with 23 points following the defeat.

Medeama will look to maintain their impressive form when they travel to Bibiani to face defending champions GoldStars in an outstanding fixture at DUNs Park on Wednesday, December 31. They will then return home to host Hearts of Oak in their next league assignment.

Heart of Lions, meanwhile, will be hoping to bounce back when they take on regional rivals Hohoe United at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 4.

In another Matchday 16 fixture, Vision FC recorded a slim 1–0 victory over Nations FC at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex. Setsofia Agetey found the net just before half-time to secure maximum points for the hosts.

The win propelled Vision FC to 12th place with 18 points, while Nations FC slipped to 10th with 19 points. Vision FC will next travel to face Aduana FC, while Nations FC prepare to host Karela United in the Matchday 17 round of fixtures.
