Manso Nyankomase Residents Demand Action Against Military Brutality

Residents of Manso Nyankomase in Ghana’s Ashanti region have taken to the streets to protest alleged military brutalities. The community is calling on the government and District Chief Executive to intervene in the situation before it escalates further.
The protests follow a clash between soldiers and residents on October 13, 2025, during a land reclamation exercise. Five people were injured in the incident, which sparked widespread outrage in the community.
The residents are raising several concerns
Lack of Consultation: The community claims that an unknown company arrived to reclaim devastated lands without consulting local authorities.
Military Brutality: Residents allege that soldiers guarding the company have been brutalizing community members.
Injuries and Damage: Five people were injured in the clash, and some residents have had their farmlands destroyed.
The Deputy District Coordinating Director for Amansie South, Augustine Sakyi, received the petition on behalf of the District Chief Executive. He assured residents that further action would be taken to address their concerns ³.
