Mahama Cuts Sod for Dawa Solar Project to Power 24-Hour Economy

President John Dramani Mahama has launched the Multi-purpose Solar Energy Project at Dawa Industrial Park, hailing it as a cornerstone of Ghana’s 24-hour economy by delivering clean, affordable power to manufacturing and export zones.
Speaking at Thursday’s sod-cutting ceremony, Mahama said the PAC Solar-led initiative, in partnership with Quam Investment, IFC, and Chinese EPC contractors, will boost renewable energy to 15% of the national mix under the National Renewable Energy Master Plan.
“This facility will produce dedicated electricity for our industrial zones—core to the 24-hour economy and industrial recovery,” he stated.
The project targets stable supply for factories, reducing reliance on the national grid and supporting round-the-clock operations.
