Madina Police Arrest Two Over Alleged Plot to Assassinate Susu Collector

The Madina Divisional Police Command has arrested two men over an alleged plot to assassinate a woman who works as a Susu collector at the Botwe Taxi Rank.
The suspects have been identified as Abubakar Altine and Eric Tettey Adejetey.
According to the Ghana Police Service, the two were arrested on September 4, 2026, after a team of officers, acting on intelligence, laid an ambush at Botwe Old Town.
The Police said the suspects were apprehended while allegedly attempting to carry out the planned attack.
Debt dispute allegedly behind plot
Preliminary investigations indicate that Abubakar Altine allegedly owed the complainant, Esther Dankwa, money and had been under repeated pressure to settle the debt.
Police said Altine subsequently allegedly conspired with Eric Tettey Adejetey to arrange the assassination of Ms Dankwa.
The circumstances surrounding the alleged plot remain under investigation.
Suspects remanded
The two suspects were arraigned before the Adenta Magistrate Court on September 7, 2026.
Their pleas were not taken, and the court remanded them into Police custody.
They are expected to reappear before the court on September 22, 2026.
The Accra Regional Head of Public Affairs, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng, said investigations are ongoing.
She added that further developments would be communicated in due course.
