“Let’s respect the rule of law,” urged the Chief Justice.

Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo emphasized the importance of embracing the rule of law and integrating it into daily life during her address at the inauguration of the Justice Club for the United Nations Youth Association-Ghana (UNYA-GH) at Pentecost University in Accra.

She highlighted that the rule of law is fundamental for societal order and fairness, which contribute to peace and prosperity. Justice Torkornoo commended the initiative of establishing the Justice Club in schools, aimed at helping students navigate the complexities of law and fostering an understanding of its values among young people.

She underscored the club’s role in demystifying legal concepts and promoting constitutional awareness, stating that empowering youth with legal knowledge secures the future generation. The Chief Justice congratulated the newly sworn-in club officers and encouraged their active participation in all activities.

Professor Olivia Anku-Tsede, Chair of the Chief Justice Mentorship Programme, praised the integration of the Justice Club into UNYA-GH, foreseeing its potential to empower young leaders and cultivate a culture of justice and accountability.

Apostle Prof. Kwabena Agyapong Kodua, Vice Chancellor of Pentecost University, lauded the Chief Justice for launching the Justice Club, emphasizing its significance for the university community.

President Eugenia Enyoman Datsormor pledged to elevate the Justice Club as a beacon of excellence, supported by other executives sworn in during the ceremony: Wilson Manassia Adu as Vice President, Larbi Anim Winifred as Secretary, Aikins William Fiifi Lewis as Organizing Secretary, and Pokoo-Aikins Eric as Treasurer.
