“LET’S RALLY BEHIND THE WINNER TO FIGHT MAHAMA,OUR COMMON ENEMY” – MAJORITY CHIEF WHIP
Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has urged the rank and file of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to rally behind whoever wins the flagbearer contest of the party on Saturday, November 4.
He described the flagbearer of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama as the common enemy of all the flagbearer aspirants of the NPP, who must be kept away from the presidency.
“We have a common enemy instead… Keep JM away from the presidency,” he tweeted.
Mr Annoh-Dompreh earlier revealed that 95% of the NPP lawmakers believed that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia should be elected as the presidential candidate in the November 4 internal elections.
He said Dr Bawumia would win by a large margin. Speaking in an interview, the Nsawam Adoagyiri Member of Parliament said “I must be honest with you, now our focus is on uniting the party, we know it is a forgone decision, Dr Bawumia is going to win hands-down. It used to be around 80%, now it has moved higher, and now we are doing like 95% of MPs who clearly believe and rally behind the Vice President, that is what it is, it could even get better on the D-Day.
“I have spoken to many of our colleagues, I think it is looking extremely good. Our focus now is to ensure that after Saturday we progress into a united front, close ranks get our party rank and file motivated, and rally behind our leader.”
