Kwadwo Safo Jnr Rejects Claims Extended Family Controls Late Apostle Safo’s Burial

Kwadwo Safo Jnr has strongly rejected claims circulating on social media regarding who holds authority over the burial arrangements of the late Apostle Prof. Emeritus Ing. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.

The controversy follows the announcement of the funeral date by Sarah Adwoa Safo, which sparked online discussions about Ghanaian customary law and the role of the extended family in burial decisions.

A widely shared social media post claimed that, under Ghanaian customary law and court precedents, the physical remains of a deceased person belong to the extended family rather than the surviving spouse or nuclear family.

The post stated that the wider family traditionally has the authority to determine “when, how, and where” burial rites should take place.

Reacting publicly to the claim, Kwadwo Safo Jnr dismissed the statement outright and accused the source of spreading falsehoods.

“Lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies lies… How can one person lie for soo long?” he wrote.

His reaction has added fresh tension to ongoing public discussions surrounding the funeral arrangements of the late founder of the Kantanka Group.

The passing of Apostle Kwadwo Safo, a respected inventor, engineer, and religious leader, has generated widespread national attention, with many Ghanaians closely following developments regarding his final funeral rites.
