KNUST Permanently Bars Five Former Students from Campus Over Alleged Disruptive Activities

The management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has imposed a permanent ban on five former students, prohibiting them from entering or remaining anywhere on the university campus.
The affected individuals are Bernard Boadi, Francis Tutu Atuahene, John Kelvin Kane, Roland Botwe Nsiah, and Felix Acquah.

In an official statement released by the University Relations Office and signed by Deputy Registrar Daniel Norris Bekoe on Friday, March 13, 2026, KNUST management explained that the five were dismissed from the university in 2025. Despite their expulsion, they have allegedly continued to frequent the campus and engage in activities that threaten the safety, stability, and orderly operations of the institution.
“The individuals are hereby prohibited from entering or remaining on the KNUST campus,” the statement declared.

The university cited the need to safeguard students, staff, and visitors, as well as to preserve discipline and ensure the uninterrupted conduct of academic, administrative, and research activities.
Management issued a stern warning to the banned former students, stating that any attempt to violate the directive by accessing university premises would result in legal action.

KNUST reiterated its unwavering commitment to enforcing institutional regulations and maintaining a secure, peaceful environment conducive to teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.

The decision underscores the university’s firm stance on upholding order and protecting its community from disruptions, particularly in cases involving individuals who no longer hold student status. No further details on the specific nature of the alleged disruptive behaviour were provided in the statement.
